Description: The full-scale rehabilitation of a landmark townhouse consists of an extension of the building envelope, a roof top addition, and a double-height living room. A mahogany framed curtain wall curves at top floor, forming a unique skylight at new rear façade. A custom steel and walnut open stairs with translucent resin screens also help to bring the natural light to the middle of each floor of the 5,300-SF narrow and deep building. The sophistication of the high-end finish details with walnut cabinet door profiles, stones, mosaic tiles, bronze, specialty glass, resin, solid surfaces, plaster and concealed air outlet and recessed lighting throughout demands well planned coordination. Roof top stand by generator provides whole house backup power in the most extreme weather conditions.
